More things they say

One day while combing Avery's hair (while looking at my profile in the mirror) he said "mom maybe you have a baby in your belly again" I said "no I don't" then he replies "mom I really don't want to tell you this....but......you are fat" :) thanks Avery. I need to re read this post when it is late and night and I have the munchies

Last week while cooking for Beckett's birthday party; I put Beckett's sipee cup next to a measuring cup on the counter. I turned to get the milk and then poured it into the measuring cup next to the sipee cup then almost handed it to Beckett. When I realized what I had done I said "oh I am idiot". Everett said "What is an idiot?" Then my mother in law said "You are not an idiot" Then Everett said "Oh your the idiot grandma?" Of course we were laughing and then he turned to Austin and said "but your not an idiot right dad?". It was funny I smile just thinking about it. :)

Funny Everett

So Everett comes home from church today singing...."I hope they call me on a mission when I have grow a little or two. I hope I will be ready to reach and reach and reach like missionaries do." I thought it was cute and wanted to write it down.

what we have been up to

It has been a long time since I blogged anything. I thought I better post a little update on us (just in case anyone cares :) ) and if not for me to look back on.

Avery had his seventh birthday last week and just started first grade and loves school. I love that he loves school. He is so much happier to have school to entertain him and not rely on his mom to supply all his fun and entertainment. He is growing like a weed....really.....one day his clothes fit the next they are too small. His shoes, his pants, his shirts everything. I knew he would out grow me fast but I never dreamed it might be by the third grade. He is almost to my shoulders now. He still loves Beckett and is very nice to him and helpful to me. He is very thoughtful and really thinks about things sometimes too much :). We were reading a book from the library about a robot who went up into space riding on top of the rocket instead of inside it. Avery said he couldn't do that there is no oxygen in space he couldn't breath and plus he would burn up in the atmosphere. I told him he was right but kept reading next the rocket runs out of gas and it shows the robot falling back to earth. He says "mom this doesn't make sense...there is no gravity in space if he did live through the atmosphere he would float not fall" I had to laugh that a simple fun children's book turned into a serious discussion and lesson of physics from my six year old.

Everett is four now and I love four years old. If fact he is so yummy right now if I could freeze him at four years old I would :). He also loves Beckett and is so willing to help and "teach him how to be a good brother" The Mischievous Everett has been replaced with a sweet obedient Everett. He just started preschool and he really like it. It makes him feel gown up and like Avery. Even though he doesn't sneak food as much he is still pretty occupied by it. When he comes home from preschool the first thing he tells you is "guess what I had at snack today". In July we went backpacking into the Tetons. To save on space and weight we packed freeze dried dinners. The first night we were there when I handed Everett his plate he said "seriously this is what is for dinner" Then that night in his prayers he said "and please bless that we will have something good to eat for breakfast". He is use to eating through out the day and going to the pantry whenever he wants so having the food locked up in the bear box was hard for him. The first night we were back in our house and said in his prayers "and thank you for all the different kinds of food we have in our house....and thank you for the walls so the bears can't see it". I thought it was so funny. Then a few weeks later for my birthday we went to salt lake and spent the night in a hotel. Everett did a little tour of the room and told Austin "Dad there is no fridge or food in here" Austin said it's ok we ate dinner already and we will eat breakfast in the morning. But that wasn't good enough he was really worried that there was no fridge or food in our room. :)

Beckett boy is going to be one in a few weeks and I can't believe it. His first year went by the fastest of any of my kids :(. I am totally smitten with him. He is so adorable. I always thought he was the end of the line....but he is so cute and lovable that I think can this really be it? Will he be the last baby I rock to sleep in my arms, the last baby the fits perfectly in the crook of my neck, the last time I get to smell that yummy baby smell whenever I want, the last time I get to get a front row seat to all the firsts (smile, laugh, step, hug, word)? But then when I am honest with myself what I want is another baby not necessarily another kid :). So I am trying to soak him up as much I can and not get too sad. Ok enough about how perfect he is :). He is into everything now. He crawls fast and scoots along furniture. I tell people if he is left unattended for long it looks like someone broke into our house looked for something valuable and then toilet papered us. He pulls himself up to everything and clears off every surface he can reach. He can open all drawers and cupboards and empties them out. Then when there is nothing left to undo he crawls into the bathroom and pulls himself up to the toilet grabs onto the toilet paper then drops and crawls all over the house. Every once and a while he stops and looks back sees the trail and claps for himself. He is funny. He has the greatest disposition happy, low key, and likes to make people laugh. He is a tease he realizes that we don't like him to have things in his mouth. So he crawls over to us opens his mouth shows us he has something then turns around and crawls away as fast as he can and you have to chase him. When you catch him he laughs and spits it out. He loves his brothers and thinks they are the coolest thing ever and wants to be just like them. They like to wrestle each other so Beckett will notice when one of them is laying on the ground, crawl as fast as he can and tackle them. He is a lot of fun.

Ok Austin and I....boy we are dull compared to our kids :). Work take care of kids sleep. :) We did go to Disneyland this summer and camping in the Tetons. I turned the big 30 and we celebrated our 10th anniversary. Well I guess that is all. Hope it wasn't too boring. Till next time :)

Beckett Boy

Beckett is almost 6 months old! I can't believe it. Time has gone by way to fast. I wish I could freeze time and keep him this little forever. He loves to stick his tounge out when he smiles. He loves his brother Avery and laughs at about anything he says. He smiles after he belches which I find realy entertaining. He has tried to inch worm but gave up and just cries when you put him on his belly now. He has been trying to break out two teeth for over a month now. They come up and back down...up back down. How do they do that anyway? He is loving solids and can't seem to get enough. He is going to be like his brothers a bottomless pit :) A friend in the ward took some fun pictures of him. I thought I would share.

Budda Belly

While eating out at a chinese resturant recently Avery pointed to a big brass statue of Budda and says "Look mom he looks like you did when Beckett was in your belly" Everett adds "ya mom you were so big". Austin being the nice husband he is came to my rescue and said "Boys that is not nice". The boys looked at each other puzzeled shrugged their shoulders and Avery said "Dad he is not real he is just a statue". Funny that it didn't even occur to them that their mom has feelings that could be hurt. They thought Austin was refereing to the statue. :) Funny boys looks like I have some sensitivity training to do.
